Hey loyal followers, anybody know anything about graphics cards? Planning on building a Gaming PC soon and I want a lot of graphic power and also be future-proof for a while. I'm planning on getting Crossfire 6950s, since they can be flashed to 6970s with a BIOS flash.
I mean, look at these results!!
Plus, there's also the MSI Twin Frozr II R6950s. But these can't flash to the 6970 BIOS. However, there's been rumors that by overclocking the voltage on the already OC'ed R6950s, they outperform even overclocked retail 6970s.
Wat do, blogosphere? D:
Do a barrel rowl
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Nvidia?
ReplyDeleteThey'll be expensive. But they're solid cards. I've heard flashing to a 6970 can be unstable.
ReplyDeleteResults seem to be great, but at the expense, they aren't gonna be cheap and thats for sure. Its up to you but honestly I'm not really sure if its worth the little extra for the price tag it'll come at.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what you are going for, but I would not go so high end and roll with two nvidia 460s
ReplyDeleteBut bios flashing seems risky
I read good things about it but i dont like ATI at all :o
ReplyDeletenice post though
Bios flashing is risky. Also them cards are expensive.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah the quality and results might make it worth it.
If you can afford them, go for it. If your not desperate though, you could try to wait a while i've heard from some sources (admittedly not reliable (friends)) that some crazy stuff is on the horizon, as they say good things come to those who wait. Try not to impulse buy.
ReplyDeleteI just started a new blog.

ReplyDeleteI miss back when my computer could be considered a "gaming PC", now it's just a piece of junk. Video cards are just too darn expensive.
